Unlike their masters, pets can unfortunately not brush their teeth! It is necessary sometimes to achieve a scaling of your dog or cat.

Indeed, over time, the enamel will be covered with dental plaque, a mixture of waste and bacteria. This causes different symptoms in your pet:

  • Halitosis
  • Irritation or even bleeding gums
  • Loosening of some teeth
  • Difficulty eating certain foods.

This procedure, performed under general anesthesia, will allow, using an ultrasound machine, to remove plaque that attacks the teeth and gums. It may be necessary on this occasion to make an extraction of some teeth, that tartar buildup would have let loose. Polishing the tooth enamel smoothes its surface and thus limit the recurrence of calculus that can occur after scaling.

After scaling, it will be possible to limit the recurrence of the scale with different tools: dental strips, dental kit, dry foods providing mechanical abrasion during mastication.
